苏格兰旅游局VisitScotland将2022年定为 Year of Stories（故事之年），并为此启动了一个名为 Braw Beginnings（此处braw意为优秀或赏心悦目）的项目，将经典作品的第一行翻译成苏格兰语，但这些作品均需受苏格兰启发或写于苏格兰。
项目得到了苏格兰语语言专家兼作家Alistair Heather的专业协助。项目内容可在此处查看，并配有插图和苏格兰语发音，包括《哈利波特与密室》、《1984》、《彼得潘》等。
以《1984》为例，英文原文开头是这样的：
It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.
译为苏格兰语后，开头变成：
It wis a bricht, cauld dey in April, an the clocks wis chappin thirteen.
